How many of you NYers coyote hunt. I was thinking about getting into this stricktly to thin out the population. I know some people hunt them for the fur but I have no urge. I just want to have a few less dogs on the mountain. I feel this is a huge reason why my hunting in Sullivan County has suffered lately - there are just so many dogs.

My family and I don't specifically hunt them, but when we run into them, we shoot em. Last year, my father shot a fairly large coy-dog (I've never seen a true coyote) and the rnger came, thanked him, and took it away.

I have a guy that does it. I am going to give a try after deer season is over. I really like the way the furs look after tanning. I want to have them tanned then I will tie them together 3 at a time and hang them up.. I would also like to get one mounted.
