Where'd you guys go in the ADKs when those bears paid ya nightime visits?
A friend & I scheduled october vacations, and we're considering doing a hunt up there to try & tag one..

Avalanche Lake. You go to Adirondack Loj Road and park in the parking lot for Adirondack Loj. The hike in to where you can hunt is about 4 miles, and I'd say it's a low-intermediate hike. If you are bringing equipment (which obviously you are), you definitely need to be in a little shape to accomplish it.

Plus, by mid-October, there should already be some snow up there, so you need to consider that also.
